When she was launched in 2010, the first Axonite, a 69-footer, was a triumph of teamwork between three Dutch specialists: K&M for the premium quality aluminium build, Kees Van de Stadt (Satellite Yacht Design) for the naval architecture and superyacht specialists Guido de Groot Design for the interior. The same team has now produced a smaller sister, the Axonite 57, which promises similar styling, total comfort and a good sailing performance.

Jongert Shipyards, an important stakeholder in the world of megayacht design, has launched a splendid vessel at its facility in the Netherlands. Created by Guido de Groot Design, the Lucia M is both modern and timeless. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces on the ship are sublime. The sleek profile of the main deck as well as the many windows revealing the vastness of the vessel’s interior make this striking, 39-metre yacht unique. The cabin is raised to maximize the space on the decks and for domestic appliances, which for such a light and fast vehicle was truly challenge. The meticulous design is evident in the common areas, which exude a charming ambiance, the walls painted with light silver-grey tones. Five large windows flood the space with natural light, creating serenity and irradiating from the white ceilings, while luxurious sofas and a soft carpet make it an idyllic place to relax. The adjacent dining room as well as the kitchen can accommodate up to eight guests.

GdG: Diplomiral sem na art Centre college of Design v Pasadeni (ZDA) in pridobil diplo-mo Bachelor of Science.

Having graduated with a degree from the Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena (USA), de Groot went on to spend six years as a car designer in Paris for Citroën. Then in 1986, inspired by viewing the 45m (148ft) De Vries (Feadship) Highlander, de Groot began designing yachts in parallel with his career in car design. He launched Guido de Groot Design in 1997, specialising in innovative interiors and exteriors for both luxury motor and sailing yachts.
